The trip was supposed to be perfect, but everything was going wrong.
Lost debit card. Visa delays. Missed flight. No place to go. Stomach on the fritz.
While journaling, it hit me:
In early 2015, I made a decision to only go surfing by way of my bike for one year to create awareness about the ability that individual surfers have to lower their carbon emissions.
That decision led to organizing a Bike to Surf Week event that inspired surfers from around the world to join in choosing one day during the week to use an alternate form of transportation to get to the beach.
I made this website to grant myself tenure.
To allow myself to do work I’ve been telling myself for too long that I either don’t know enough or am not good enough to do.
To create something that I can be proud to leave behind.
I first learned of Kevin Kelly in one of his interviews with Tim Ferriss.
The conversation was so thought-provoking, Kelly’s perspective so unique to what I’d heard before, I became an instant fan.
